Aldi’s Grocery Shopping Food Haul – Under $50!
My weekly trip to Aldi’s.
I go over how much I spent. what I’m eating. And how long this haul should last.
I eat a pretty “clean” diet, with a snack or 2 mixed in lol.
A couple things: 1. I’m a vegetarian 2. I’m eating about 3000 a day
The next post will be a FULL DAY OF EATING

Protein2O : Protein Water Review
I found these in Aldi’s (later saw that they are in a couple different stores), and decided to buy a couple and try them out.
Being honest, I was skeptical about how these will taste. I am not a huge fan of most protein shakes. The thought of fruit flavored protein water seemed crazy!
BUT…. these were actually good!
Here’s the label:
No chalky, protein taste
Both flavors were good
Low in calories
High In Protein
Slight dry after taste
8-8.5 / 10
$1.99 in Aldi’s

- Where does it get its protein from: Pea Protein Isolate
- Calories: 290 Calories per Burger

- Looks like a burger
- Cooks like a burger.
- Taste Good – Probably the best store brand burger I’ve had so far.

- Initial Smell Was BAD!\
- A Lot of Oil.
- 7.5 / 10
- Though it ended up being really good, the initial smell turned me off, and the amount of oil that came from it while cooking was a bit much. But, if you’re looking for a vegan burger replacement, I haven’t had any, store brought, better.
First things first. Yes, the title of this post is correct. I tried CRICKET POWDER….
Really, just for curiosities sake.
During a training session, an article talking about cricket protein was brought up. So, of course, I checked Amazon, and there were MULTIPLE options of cricket powder. And, well, I had to try it! But, I wasn’t paying $30-40 for bug powder. I found a sample size, and made the purchase. This is what the bag looks like:
Yup! Nothing says GAINZ like a cricket on the label!
In all seriousness, there are benefits to this cricket powder. Including:
- 2x more protein (per gram) than beef
- more calcium than milk
- More iron than spinach
- More b12 than salmon
- More potassium than bananas
- 5x more magnesium than beef
- Its a complete protein, have all 9 essential amino acids. Something chicken, pork, or beef doesn’t
The bag I purchased came with 10 servings, at 2 teaspoons per serving. Here’s the other nutritional facts:
The question is, was it good? *Watch the video above*
Would I try it again? *Watch the video above*
And if you want to try some out, let me know!!
